Gabby, Joyce, “Mama Bear”, Cancer Survivor, loving friend and colleague—
So many of us know her as a “tough cookie”, a strong and independent woman. She is the one that would protect you with everything she has and will never leave you behind if you need her help. The one that has worked with kids in the orphanage for the last 8 years and made sure they had Christmas presents. She wanted to make sure they felt special, cared after, and loved. Gabby is the one that has done so much for so many of us. But sometimes even those that are very strong could use support from the people that love them.
Gabby is going through some very serious health issues and she really needs our help. She has been diagnosed with RSD—a chronic syndrome that has been triggered by the breast cancer that Gabby beat. She needs treatment to keep herself in remission and has tried every treatment known except one. This is a treatment that has been around since the 1970’s and has had tremendous success. This treatment is the only one that currently gives her any hope of remission. Unfortunately, the insurance company has denied coverage as they say it is an experimental treatment. This treatment seems to be her last chance to have any quality of life. All Gabby wants is to be able to “bake cookies with my grand babies, go on long walks, work and be a productive citizen,” as she put it simply. She has done as much as she possibly can to receive help and this treatment that she so desperately needs. She has written her local, state, and federal government officials but she has had no luck. Gabby now needs us.
PLEASE HELP us make it possible for her to enjoy her life. Let’s give her back just a little bit of love and support that she has so generously given to us throughout the years.
We are trying to raise $4,500.00 for the remaining costs of Gabby’s treatment. Anything you can contribute would be greatly appreciated.
