Law N Paws Is Merging Locations with Pet Guardian Angel — Same Mission, Stronger Future
Since 2017, Law N Paws has rescued over 600 dogs — all victims of cruelty, neglect, or abandonment — through referrals from the El Paso Police Department’s Animal Cruelty Unit. Founded by Detective Vanessa Acosta, we are one of the few cruelty-focused dog rescues in the region.
Today, we’re at a crossroads — and we need your help.
Due to rising rent and an ongoing county construction project, our current shelter is no longer safe or sustainable. The county has begun building a linear park and a 6-foot wall that will soon cut off the only entrance to our property. Fire and safety concerns have made it clear: we must relocate before the project is complete.
While we were initially given a June 30th deadline, we’ve been granted a short extension — but time is still running out.
The Next Chapter
We’re excited to announce that Law N Paws is merging locations with our longtime friends at Pet Guardian Angel. This transition allows us to relocate our operations to a shared property, expand capacity, and build a permanent sanctuary dedicated to cruelty-case survivors.
Although we will share space, Law N Paws will remain its own independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit and lead operations at the new location. This opportunity gives us the foundation to finally create something we’ve dreamed of for years:
️ El Paso, Texas’ first dedicated sanctuary for cruelty survivors.
What We Need: $200,000 for Phase One
The new property offers land and infrastructure — but we must build and install our own kennel systems to care for the 75+ dogs in our rescue.
We’re raising $200,000 to cover:
✅ 80 Golden Retriever-style kennels at $450 each
✅ 4 large metal roofing panels
✅ Wood, screws, cement slabs, and hardware for safe, long-term housing
Each full kennel setup includes:
• Large wire kennel
• Four 10x10 metal panels
• Dog house and raised bed
• Roofing panel
• Foundation materials for security and sanitation
These aren’t just kennels — they’re safety, dignity, and healing for dogs who’ve survived starvation, beatings, and abandonment.
Why We Need Your Help
Law N Paws receives no city, state, or government funding. We rely solely on donations and medical grants.
Your support will directly build the safe haven our cruelty survivors desperately need. With your help, they won’t just survive — they’ll thrive.
Please donate, share, and spread the word.
Let’s raise a paw — and raise the walls of a sanctuary built on compassion.
