On April 19th Death tried to take Rick. Death tried again 3 more times the following week and failed. Rick believes this makes him a god, the doctors won't confirm it. The last 2 weeks have been full of ups and downs. It was decided that Rick's heart needs an assistant and a pacemaker/defibulator combo has been implanted. The hope is that this will let him lead a normal life after recovery. A normal mortal life, not a god's life. The doctors still won't confirm if it will be the life of a god. Now the hard part starts. The bills are flowing in like it's monsoon season. The hospital, doctors, surgeons, physical therapists, medications, home care supplies, etc. In the face of this flood, Rick will need to focus on recovery and the restaurant will not be open for the foreseeable future, so income will be minimal. This is where you, our friends, family, acquaintances, enemies, and strangers that have stumbled upon this page come in. He has spent a little over 2 weeks in ICU, had surgery, still has more time to go in the hospital, and a long recovery. While we are paying as much as we can, help is still needed for the past, current, and future medical bills which are becoming overwhelming.
