Give the CHETI Orphans a Merry XMAS

I'd really like to give the kids of the CHETI orphanage a Merry Christmas this year. There are 49 kids, a mix of boys and girls, who all live at the CHETI orphanage outside of Arusha, Tanzania. The orphanage is part of the CHETI school system, which is run by Zuma Mtui and consists of 4 pre-primary schools, a primary school, and the orphanage. Most of the orphans at the school attend the CHETI schools, as well (you can see the CHETI uniforms in the pictures) and their tuition is payed for either by sponsors or by Zuma, himself.


For Christmas this year, I'd like to give the kids a nice present of new clothes, which will last them for months or years to come. For a matching set of trousers and shirt (boys) or skirt and blouse (girls), the cost is 50,000 Tanzanian Shillings (approximately $22.50 USD) each.

If we get enough, I would also like to take the kids out for some fun and food. There's a place here in Arusha called Club D which has a swimming pool, playground and some restaurants and ice cream shops. Admission to the club is about $3 per kid, plus the food and drinks we should be able to the whole thing for 4 to 5 hundred US.


I think it would be great to give these kids a happy holiday and show them that people out there care about them and want them to have a smile on their faces. Any amount helps, so please donate and share!
