Give Sven a leg up conducting opera

I'm thrilled to have been accepted to study opera conducting at Bach-Millennium music in Santa Clara, CA July 30-August 12, 2018. But because of a financial hardship, I will not be able to attend without the help of donors like you.
In addition to providing daily lessons, coachings, and the opportunity to work with singers and a professional orchestra, the program will give me the opportunity to produce video recordings of my conducting. These recordings will be an important part of my portfolio when I apply for grants from the Zellerbach Foundation and San Francisco Arts Commission to conduct my first full opera with Lacuna Arts in 2019.
Donations will be used for tuition to Bach Millennium Music, which is itself a 501(c)3 nonprofit that provides professional training for aspiring opera singers, pianists, and conductors. Tuition of $2950 is due by June 1, 2018. Any donations beyond the $3000 goal will be used for transportation to and from Santa Clara and for meals.
Your financial support will mean so much to me! My personal finances are maxed out as I prepare to have surgery on my ankle April 26 to correct a problem that has prevented me from being able to walk normally, run, or climb stairs for over a year now. I've managed to pull together the resources to pay for the $12,000 surgery, but I'll have to take four weeks off of work in order to recover. Without your help, I would not be able to afford to take on the additional financial burden of the $2950 Bach Millennium Music tuition at this critical point in my conducting career.
I have been very fortunate to conduct the a cappella choirs of Lacuna Arts for the past 12 seasons, and I look forward to expanding their programs to include staged opera with orchestra in future seasons. And I am currently working on a project with ArtSmart that will draw upon all of my skills as a singer, pianist, conductor, and educator. Please help me not miss the opportunity to receive professional development from the internationally recognized faculty of Bach-Millennium Music this summer, and give me a "leg up" as an aspiring opera conductor after I recover from my ankle surgery.
