Hey everyone, it's Kristine, and I'm reaching out with a heavy heart to anyone generous enough to donate to help fund Sage's surgery.
Sage's left eye was completely torn and left out of its socket by someone presumably throwing something or kicking at her face with extreme force. Her chin and jaw are severely swollen, and a few of her teeth have fallen out. She usually stands by the door when she needs to use the restroom, and someone had let her out to go routinely. Sage is a loving mom who is nursing, so when she wasn't there in the morning with her kittens like she usually was, I immediately went out to look for her. After calling for her, she crawled out of a space by the table. She was very obviously disheveled, she was moving slowly and stopped the moment she got into the door. When I took a further look, I saw how badly the left side of her face had been damaged, and I immediately rushed her to the vet. The veterinarian said it was impossible that a cat or animal could have done that level of damage to her face without leaving any other scratches or bruises on her body. She is in severe pain, and this surgery is the only way to relieve her pain long-term.
The first visit to the vet was $300, which included the examination fee and her medications. Then they showed me the estimated cost for her eye surgery, which was $1800. I'm a college student working part-time, and I cannot easily afford $2000 in vet expenses. I'm asking anyone who sees this that if they have even a few dollars to spare, it goes a long way to donate. Any amount of donation is appreciated and will only be used towards her vet expenses. It would truly mean the world to both me and Sage.
With love,
Kristine :)
