Friday the 13th and black cats might be seen as bad luck, but Stanley has been nothing but a lucky charm in our lives—until recently. Last Saturday, when Stanley didn’t greet us at the door, we knew something was wrong.
A trip to the emergency vet revealed that Stanley’s urinary tract was blocked. After urgent treatment and 6 hours of waiting, we hoped a special diet and extra TLC would set him on the path to recovery. Unfortunately, a follow-up visit revealed that not only was he blocked again, but he also had bladder stones.
At just four years old, Stanley still has so much love to give. We decided to proceed with surgery, during which 12 stones were removed, including 4 from his urinary tract. We thought we were in the clear, but the next day, Stanley was blocked once more.
It seems inflammation and stress are the culprits now. He’s been checked into another emergency vet for three nights, receiving round-the-clock care to finally get him back to his playful self. But the costs have been significant.
Stanley is more than just a cat—he’s family. If you can donate, send positive vibes, or share our story, we would be immensely grateful. Thank you for helping us give Stanley the chance to return home so we can tuck him in for many more nights to come!
