<div>Recently, my mom was diagnosed with stage 4 Gastric Adenocarcinoma. There’s a mass at the junction of her esophagus and stomach that has spread to the lymph nodes from the collarbone down to her pelvis. In addition to the tumors, she has dysphagia due to narrowing in her esophagus which led to a gastric tube into her stomach to make sure she is getting nutrition. Receiving the news altered our lives and quickly became urgent for my mother. My mom has already gone through multiple procedures, one being a feeding tube that has been an adjustment on its own. Right now we are fighting for time with our mother and to give her the best quality of life possible.

<div>While we are so grateful to have something like insurance, unfortunately our out of pocket expenses are very high and no medical supplies are covered. These supplies include her tube feeding, equipment, and nutritional formula.

<div>For those of you who have never met my mother, she is the most beautiful soul and I can speak for all of her children when I say we wouldn’t be able to imagine a life without her and her love. Through all of the heartbreak and pain so far, she has continued to pour every ounce she can into her children and making sure we are okay. Everyday she has created peace in my life and has taken care of me, now I want to ensure she is given the best chance possible like she has done for her children.

She has a long fight ahead along with overwhelming medical expenses, treatment costs, and life expenses that come with traveling to and from the treatment center. Watching someone you love face an unforgivable illness is devastating, but we are determined to do everything we can to give her the chance at the best fight possible. She deserves a chance at every treatment but also ease knowing her children are taken care of during this time.
