Hello everyone,
We are the Hotsenpiller family. Our little Millie girl developed Intervertebral Disc Disease (IVDD) that left her suddenly paralyzed in the hind legs.
“It occurs when the shock-absorbing discs between vertebrae harden and bulge, compressing the spinal cord and damaging nerve impulses. IVDD can cause pain, dysfunction, or paralysis.”
About Millie: Millie is a 3 year old French Bulldog who we rescued from Las Vegas. Millie loves to play and go camping with her family. She would rather have human attention than other dogs. She is a giant loaf of bread and loves cuddles. She has been the best addition to our family and adds so much spunk and love. We would love to be able to get her the best possible care that we can.
•Our first option was to get her surgery which was quoted between 12-15 thousand dollars. After our veterinary did more test on our Millie girl, we found she was not the best candidate for the surgery due to the location of the injury to her spine/disc and the success rate was very low and could potentially cause more harm.
•Our current option is for pain management and physical therapy
* Massage
* Traction
* Exercises
* Underwater treadmill
* Chiropractic treatments
daily massages to circulate blood flow exercises to not allow muscle atrophy
If no improvement we would then venture into the possibility of a puppy wheelchair.
All of this will add up in cost so we are reaching out to our friends, family, and community to assist us in helping our little girl.
We are asking for your help!
Please share Millie’s story and help us get her the care she needs.
