Mildred Jean (Millie) came to us after being left at the Hardin County shelter. She was picked up by animal control with a male Dane. She is chipped but the owner only recovered the male from the shelter and left Millie there. She is 8 years old (very old for a Dane) and has clearly been used for breeding purposes.

Our goal was to find Millie her forever home after getting her fixed and putting some weight back on. She was skin and bones when we first brought her home.

But after two failed adoption trials we are beginning to think Millie may be better off enjoying the rest of her years with us, Problem is she kills cats and can’t be in the house with ours. She also doesn’t like most men, very selective about other dogs and has a strong prey drive.

So we are raising money for Millie’s retirement home. She will have her own space, A/C, comfy bed and enough room for her favorite human to come hang out with her. And yes I know I could just get her a dog kennel but I don’t want her golden years to be spent locked up like that.
