Some of you remember Mandy, the severe jaw dislocation case that we were able to save and just got adopted last week. Mandy became a well-known case on social media, so we now get tagged in any post about a dog with a broken jaw. And that’s how Manchas made her way into our network.

Meet—Manchas (Patches). She is well beloved by her local community who look after her, feed her, and have built her a little dog house. When she didn’t come around for dinner one night, people went out looking for her. They found her in shocking condition with a severely broken jaw.

Her case is more severe and complex than Mandy’s, who had a fairly straightforward dislocation. Manchas’ jaw is dislocated and broken in multiple places. The surgery will be extensive and after care will be long.

Our vet has agreed to do everything at cost, which is a massive donation on there part since this means they are not taking an pay for staff. They’ve given us a quote of $1,200 USD for the surgery to screw, wire, and plate her mouth back together. After care and future costs will continue to add up so we have listed the fundraiser at $3000.

She has a 50/50 shot at a full recovery but we have decided to take the risk. She’s so sweet and gentle, and the alternative would be putting her down immediately.
