<div>My name is Kayla, and I’m creating this GoFundMe on behalf of my life long best friend and twin sister, Kendra.
</div>

<div>Kendra was recently diagnosed with Stage 4 Hormone Positive, HER2- Metastatic Breast Cancer. She had absolutely no symptoms until the cancer had already silently spread to her spine — something none of us could have ever imagined.

<div>Since her diagnosis, everything in Kendra’s life has shifted. She's said it many times, her life has been completely flipped upside down. But for those that have had the chance to see her in the last few weeks know that she is approaching every day with incredible strength and determination. Her treatment plan is intense and lifelong. Although stage 4, her team of doctors believe she can overcome this and are treating her aggressively with curative intent.

<div>She will be undergoing:
</div>

</div>
<div>Chemotherapy for the next four months
</div>
<div>Followed by surgery and radiation
</div>
<div>And medication for the rest of her life
</div>

</div>
<div>In addition to conventional treatments, Kendra is taking an integrative approach to her healing, combining standard care with evidence-based, holistic therapies to give her body the best chance at fighting this cancer and maintaining quality of life.

<div>She is still working on her integrative care plan as most of this will come later but it will likely include:
</div>

</div>
<div>Weekly acupuncture and infusions (these infusions will likely continue for the rest of her life)
</div>
<div>Infrared therapy
</div>
<div>Hyperbaric oxygen therapy
</div>
<div>Mistletoe therapy
</div>
<div>And other supportive treatments that will be introduced over time
</div>

<div>Because her cancer is hormone-sensitive, Kendra has had to remove and replace many of her everyday items — think about everything you pick up and use through out the day — to reduce exposure to hormone-disrupting chemicals. These changes are essential but costly.

<div>On top of it all, she’s been traveling to near-daily appointments for the past month and a half, spending hundreds on gas and transportation alone. None of the therapies are covered by insurance, and the financial burden will be growing quickly.
