<li>8 years ago, I never thought that I would be fighting a disease that has no cure but is not curable. I have Parkinson's Disease. I found out at age 51 that I was diagnosed. I never wanted much; I wanted to help raise my son and start my journey down this road of uncertainty. I had to retire because I couldn't do a whole lot at the job that I was at. It wasn't long after that I had to stop driving. I didn't think that I could take a whole lot more. I have survived over the last 8 years by putting my head down and just trying to live. During this time, I started losing my teeth. A lot of it was due to my shaking so much that when I would lay in my bed at night to rest, I would lose my teeth from my mouth chattering so much. From the pictures that I have included, you can see that I have lots of holes where there are broken teeth. My mouth is a broken mess. When it comes to living day to day, it's difficult. I only make $1595 a month. When I first started this adventure, I made a whole lot less than that. I don't like asking for help anymore because I have been shot down so many times. I have a great group of people at my church who help me when I need to go places, and there have been some of my church friends who have gotten me groceries when I needed to get some. I get food stamps, but I only get $89 a month. Life has been tough, but I have made it so far. I have a place to live, rides to all of my doctor appointments, and like I said, a good group of friends from my church. I would really like to get new teeth. My left jaw is starting to snag because the teeth haven't been there for a very long time. I'm not very hopeful that this will work for me, but I have to try. I would like to smile again.
