<div>As many of you may know, our dear friend Erick has been fighting a long and difficult battle with his immigration case. In January 2025, his life changed forever when he was detained by ICE. He was locked away , treated more like a prisoner than a human being. Sadly, everything you hear about how “illegal immigrants” are treated is true. Erick lived through it.

<div>For months, he waited anxiously for a court date, holding on to the hope of being granted bond. But after all that waiting, his request was denied. They told him he could keep fighting, but that only meant more delays, more waiting, and more heartbreak. Erick endured six long months of this painful cycle, each day taking a heavier toll on his mental and emotional health.

<div>This experience has been devastating, but Erick is strong. He refuses to let this be the end of his story. Instead, he’s determined to start a new chapter — one filled with healing, rebuilding, and hope.

<div>I am creating this page because Erick needs our support more than ever. After six months in detention, his financial accounts were closed, and everything he had went toward paying lawyer fees. He came out with nothing. On top of this, he longs to be reunited with his beloved fur babies, Nicolasa and Becky — his emotional support and his comfort through it all. They are currently being cared for by a kind friend, but Erick dreams of bringing them back home where they belong.

<div>Como muchos de ustedes saben, nuestro querido amigo Erick ha estado librando una larga y difícil batalla con su caso de inmigración. En enero de 2025, su vida cambió para siempre cuando fue detenido por ICE. Lo encerraron y lo trataron más como a un prisionero que como a un ser humano. Lamentablemente, todo lo que se escucha sobre el trato a los “inmigrantes indocumentados” es verdad. Erick lo vivió en carne propia.

<div>Durante meses, esperó con ansiedad una fecha en la corte, aferrándose a la esperanza de obtener una fianza. Pero después de tanta espera, su petición fue negada. Le dijeron que podía seguir luchando, pero eso solo significaba más demoras, más incertidumbre y más dolor. Erick soportó seis largos meses de este ciclo tan duro, que día tras día le fue dejando heridas en su salud mental y emocional.

<div>Ha sido una experiencia devastadora, pero Erick es fuerte. Se niega a que esta sea la última página de su historia. Al contrario, está decidido a empezar un nuevo capítulo lleno de sanación, reconstrucción y esperanza.

<div>Estoy creando esta página porque Erick necesita más que nunca de nuestro apoyo. Después de seis meses en detención, perdió sus cuentas bancarias y todo lo que tenía se fue en pagar abogados. Salió con las manos vacías. A esto se suma que sueña con volver a reunirse con sus adoradas compañeras de vida, Nicolasa y Becky —sus perritas, su apoyo emocional y su refugio en medio de todo. Por ahora están al cuidado de una amiga bondadosa, pero Erick anhela tenerlas de nuevo en casa, donde siempre han pertenecido.

<div>Desde lo más profundo de mi corazón, les pido que estén con Erick en este momento. Su generosidad —ya sea con una donación o compartiendo su historia— puede darle la oportunidad de reconstruir su vida.
