I honestly don't know how to start this story. In truth, I'm furious at the world for having to write it. But I have to, because the protagonist in my story is too humble and far too modest for this kind of public plea for help.
My name is Emily, and my sister-in-law Georgie was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer last December. She is currently receiving chemotherapy with a future view to surgery and radiation therapy. Georgie has taken to this unwanted journey with the same calm acceptance and poise that she takes to life with; she has continued to work three days a week and raise their beautiful one year old son, Louis, along with my legend brother, Mat. Time away from work, appointments, medical bills, cost of surgery and allied health input financially adds up, so the time has come to ask for donatons - great or small.
In addition to online donations, I will be running a charity bootcamp at Wellfit Personal Training Broadmeadow on Saturday April 22nd, 2017 at 10am for up to 36 people. It will be $20 p/p and cater for a wide variety of fitness levels.
This places urgency on the timeframe we have to raise funds - exactly one month from today I would like to change Georgie, Mat and Louis' lives for the better and I need your help to do that. We are keeping this GoFundMe page AND the charity bootcamp entirely SECRET from Georgie, but Mat is aware and we have been circulating the link on social media. SPREAD THE LINK FAR AND WIDE. Myself and Georgie's loved ones had reservations about making a plea as Georgie is a very private person. But with all due respect, she has never needed support the way her and her family do right now and I have faith in your generosity and sense of community to achieve the goal of $15,000 by 22nd April.
