Our Gale
Gale has spent most of her life touching other people’s lives. The love and light that radiates from this wonderful person stays with you after meeting her just once. Gale wasn’t my friend first, she was Chris’s of 20+ years, but I gladly claim her as one of my most beloved friends. Gale devotes herself to her others, spending time teaching underprivileged people to make healthy food on a budget, coming to the rescue for friends who need urgent child care, helping the people she loves get through emotionally trying circumstances, or spending her last dollar to buy a bottle of water for the sunbaked man sitting at the edge of the sidewalk. Gale’s love is limitless.
Gale is currently working through school to become a Registered Dietician at Texas Women’s University. This is an incredibly rigorous course load, and Gale splits the rest of her time studying, working, and supporting those she loves.
Gale’s Medical Costs
Gale has been battling a serious autoimmune disease of the thyroid for 8 years. After noticing growth of her thyroid recently, and experiencing discomfort in her neck and throat, Gale had an ultrasound completed to detect any abnormalities. Three tumors were found, and biopsies to rule out malignancy or cancer have become a necessity.
Gale needs our help. Because of her busy schedule, and dedication to fulfilling her dreams, Gale cannot afford insurance. Another ultrasound must be performed by the endocrine/thyroid specialist to determine exact locations and treatment plan of the tumors. An aspiration biopsy will be performed, unless it is determined there is a need to perform an excision and cut the tumors out. Between the ultrasound, examination, anesthesia, procedure, pathology, and treatment plan, these costs are estimated to be at total of $1500. Gale's appointment is set for late October.
Our Hope and Gratitude
We hope for the very best for Gale. We want for these biopsies to be completed, and determine that the nodules are benign. We want this beautiful soul to be able to manage the hard symptoms of this disease. We want her to continue to spread her love through the lives of people she will stay with forever.
