GIVE FINNEGAN A CHANCE TO LIVE

FINNEGAN is a little boy who has never known anything but suffering and starvation in his life.

He was bred for more breeding in a puppy mill in China, then discarded when his frail little body was of no use. He was purchased off a dog meat truck headed to slaughter. He and 8 other dogs we rescued. In China he was diagnosed with chronic starvation, malnutrition, anemia, had trouble walking from muscle atrophy and weakness from being crated. He was vulnerable but they did not deem his unable to fly to Canada. However, the 20+ grueling journey to freedom did have an impact on him. He arrived weak and had trouble breathing. We rushed him to the ER where he began receiving oxygen, antibiotics, and nutrition through a feeding tube. He was stable but not improved for days, and then something went wrong and he crashed. He had to be intubated. He is currently on a ventilator to allow his lungs a chance to function better so that we can wean him off the oxygen and see if he can survive.

I know these are drastic life saving measures. I understand the cost and effort involved. And you may ask WHY … why go to such great lengths to save this one little dog?

Because I do not want him to die without knowing love. He has never known kindness or care or love. He has come a long way to experience it, he has survived China, he survived the flight, I cannot in good conscience quit on him now when he has made it this far. He deserves the CHANCE. Lifesaving medical technology exists to be used, to save lives. Lives like Finnegan’s. So I am here to ask you to help me save his life. Help me give him a chance to experience love. Some say the value of a life is how much LOVE that life gives to others. I am sure Finnegan has a lot of love to give us. If he just gets this chance.
