Give Dominick a fighting chance!

My grandson, Dominick, was born on August 2, 2022. We discovered in utero that my daughter has DiGeorge Syndrome. Following that, we found that Dominick had a serious and rare congenital heart defect. That finding all but confirmed Dom was a DiGeorge baby, also.

Dom had his first open heart surgery at 6 days old, and at 9 days old, he was diagnosed with Complete DiGeorge with Congenital Athymia. Long story short, Dom has no Thymus, therefore, no T-cells. In other words, he can not fight any type of infection at all. That is the day our lives completely changed. We were unprepared for such an "ultra rare" and severe issue. Because of this, I have to make major changes to my home to have a safe, germ-free, healthy home for Dom to come home to. The goal is to keep him healthy enough to make it to a Thymus transplant, but that will take quite a while even to get set for.
