Chris Lannin Funeral

Donation protected
My name is Stacy and my brother is Shawn.  To know our dad Chris Lannin is to love him.  He never met a stranger and I don't know anyone that would call him an enemy.
Our dad Chris has always been a giver. He may not have had much, but he would give you the shirt off his back. He never hesitated to help a friend in need or even a passing stranger. I can personally recall several instances of him helping people he didn't care for just because it was the right "Christian" thing to do.
Chris is a devoted father and grandpa or "appa" as my kids call him.  He was active in everything my brother and I did as kids. He coached little league teams and Hessville youth hoops teams.  He went to cheer and chess competitions to support his grand kids.  He also devoted many hours of his time to covering local high schools sports on WJOB radio with the Region Sports Network.
Our father Chris inherited the title of unofficial mayor of Hessville from his dad, Bill.  He ran into someone he knew EVERYWHERE we went and always made the time to stop and say hello.  He brightened many people's lives every day with his sense of humor.
We come to you all now on behalf of our dad to ask for your help. As many of you may know, Chris was diagnosed with lung cancer in March.  It had already metastasized to his brain. He has fought hard since then undergoing 14 doses of radiation treatment and cyber knife. He has battled several infections and been hospitalized numerous times. About 2 weeks ago we found out that the cancer has spread and the original tumors have grown substantially. Our dad has been in a lot of uncontrollable pain and the doctors recommended hospice.  As a family we agreed it was for the best to keep him comfortable and as pain free as possible until the inevitable happens.
Currently that is where we are. At this point we don't know how much time he has left and we are now faced with the task of looking ahead to plan funeral services. Unfortunately Chris has no life insurance or money so my brother and I are asking for anyone who knew our dad and loved him to help us give him the proper funeral services and burial that he wants and deserves.   Every little bit helps even if it's only $20. Please if Chris ever helped you out in any way shape or form help him out one last time.  Even if you can't donate please share this post! THANK YOU FROM THE BOTTOM OF OUR BROKEN HEARTS!!
