Howard passed away suddenly on Wednesday the 7th after just having retired from state service. Howard served over 30 years in the fire service, starting out as a firefighter with the Cayucos Fire department. Eventually achieving the rank of Chief. He was a professional firefighter with the CA. Department of Parks at the Hearst Castle fire department for 24+ years, achieving the rank of Captain. Howard was well known/loved and well respected. He leaves behind his wife Linda and his sons Matt (wife Tess) and son Ben as well as two grandsons.
