Did you ever meet someone that was so full of life, so selfless that would go to any lengths to put a smile on your face? Someone that didnt care what situation he was in he will travel a few hours to come to your dorm lounge to help you with a communications project? Someone that will find you when you are at your worse and made you feel better. Someone that is wacky as hell but someone that you can trust with everything? That was my friend Shawn Saguid . I met him back in 2010 when I went to a party at my alma mater of Iona College and he introduced me to people that became my family, he always was comforting in good times and bad and he always managed to help when the college parties got to be too much.
My favorite memory with Shawn was when he helped me with my communication project and he made sure that everything went off without a hitch. I will never forget that day and i never forget about him.
On July 22nd 2017 Shawn Saguid lost his fight with Intimal Sarcoma in the heart and lungs. Only 130 cases in the world are found with this rare form of cancer and unfortunately this good soul was one of them. This cancer is found in autopsies and is rare for it to be caught in its full form. His first post on GoFundMe Started in March of 2016 and he spent about a year and a half fighting the good fight while making his friends and family aware of what Sarcoma really was.
In December of 2017 following his death we raised $1000 dollars for the Sarcoma Foundation of America
In July 2018 we raised $1100
Our goal is to reach our 3,000 goal through donations and events.
Our event this year will be held on July 28th at Colony 274 in Brooklyn New York we are still looking for participation and whoever wants to be involved email us at firstname.lastname@example.org
