Hello..

My name is Arwa Latif, and I find myself trapped in the relentless turmoil of Gaza alongside my husband Ahmed. Each day brings with it the ever-present threat of airstrikes, leaving us in a constant state of fear and uncertainty. Our home, once a place of refuge, now stands as a testament to the destruction wrought by war.

Before the war tore through our lives, I found fulfillment and joy in my work as an accessories designer. Crafting beautiful pieces brought me a sense of purpose and creativity, allowing me to express myself in ways that words could not. But now, amidst the chaos and destruction of Gaza, even my beloved craft has become a reminder of the life we once had.

Ahmed and I are desperate to secure the safety of our two young boys, Awni (4years old) and Kenan (6 years old). But the reality of life in Gaza is harsh and unforgiving. We live in constant fear of the next attack, never knowing if our home will be spared or reduced to rubble like so many others.

My heart aches for my son Kenan, who was only able to experience one month of school, a place he adored, before the war ravaged our lives. His innocence and longing for education are evident in his constant inquiries, asking, “When will I go back to school?” The destruction of his school has robbed him of the stability and routine that every child deserves.

The dangers we face extend beyond the physical violence of war. The frequent power outages and water shortages only add to the hardships we endure on a daily basis. Our once-thriving community now lies in ruins, with little hope of rebuilding amidst the chaos and destruction.

Ahmed and I have made the difficult decision to seek refuge abroad, knowing that our chances of survival are slim if we remain in Gaza. However, the cost of travel and the necessary expenses of resettling in a new country are beyond our means. We are reaching out to you, our friends, family, and compassionate strangers, in the hopes that you will help us in our time of need.

I am also striving to escape from here and pursue my dream of continuing my hobby of accessory crafting, which sustains me and my children.

So, my goal is to collect enough donations to help our current situation and be able to get out of Gaza by paying for a safe exit for our family.
