Give a gift that accelerates social acceptance

It is again that time of the year we reflect on the opportunities we had, no matter how small or challenging. The work we did, the people in our lives who made the year a great one, and the lives we touched.

The year 2020 has been a year for reflection for us all, and, we at the Bisi Alimi Foundation understood how even more urgent the work we are doing in Nigeria is, which is to accelerate social acceptance of LGBT people.

Despite the COVID-19 global pandemic, as a foundation we were able to

Support LGBT people financially through COVID-19 relief funds, host educative webinars, and publish policy papers

Host one of the largest virtual Pan African IDAHOBIT celebration, which brought together LGBT Africans.

Support our scholars and fellows financially.

Host the first-ever LGBT Virtual Job Fair in Nigeria with over 200 registered participants.
However, we know we can do more than this, and hence why we need your donation:

With your generous donation, in 2021, we will be able:

To support our work in Nigeria and the people we work for/with.

Increase and improve on our educational activities, this has been rated as the best activity for 2020 from internal feedback surveys carried out. Our educational webinars are focused on sexual and mental health, trans rights, and proactive advocacy which we believe is changing the landmark in Nigeria and we are eager to do more.

Continue to support as many LGBT people in need of financial support as possible. While we are not a grant-giving organisation, our small soothing intervention has helped many LGBT people with their basic needs like feeding, medical expenses, paying rents, and more.

Launch a campaign in 2021 to tackle workplace discrimination faced by LGBT people living with HIV.

Help us to organise key events like Pride, IDAHOBIT, and the LGBT virtual job fair. These we believe will help create a safe space and strengthen the LGBT community.
We hope that you will kindly join us to make a difference in the lives of LGBT people across Nigeria.
