Gissele's Wings

I'm a father who has been blessed with a daughter who had a short, difficult path while she graced me with being my angel. I want to see her life celebrated.  Her struggles understood because this baby lit up the world to whoever meet her.

Gissele was born on May 14, 2017, she was premature. At the age of 2 months the doctors discovered an infection in her body that cause a condition that produced excess fluid in the brain.

She had an operation at that time to remove a mass of infectious tissue and later placed a VP shunt ( an apparatus that aided her in the expulsion of the excess fluid that caused swelling of the brain due to her condition) in her head.

At 11 months old our Gissele was also diagnosed with infantile spasms also due to the excessive production of fluids in her brain.

She went through treatments of antibiotics which aided in her recovery process. She had therapist and doctors through her two years but she had this unbelievable  strength for a baby.

On October 8th, 2017 Gissele was admitted to the hospital due being sick,  doctors observing her said that her symptoms were due to her VP Shunt having a malfunction and that the apparatus would have to be replaced. Gissele went through the procedure and it was a successful replacement. Giselle was good and active for the next 36 hours after the procedure.

On this Saturday the 10th of October 2020, Gissele started to spike a high fever and had episodes of seizures while still in the hospital. The doctors intervene and were observing her through the night and on Sunday morning Gissele became unresponsive and the doctors intervened once again and she was put on oxygen help to continue the efforts to survive Giselle and help her recover from whatever was affecting her. After Sunday morning, she had a series of tests and scans and MRIS. Doctor's told us that there was no blood flow to the brain. After the test results came back the doctors diagnosis was that Giselle had some kind of bacteria in her bloodstream. This was was what they thought could have been the reason why the blood flow to her brain was being affected.

They then ran a series of neurological testing's in which Gissele had no response to.  At this point Gissele had already been without blood flow to her brain for at least 48 hours.

On Thursday October 15th, 2020 at the end of the second round of new lock neurological testing the doctors pronounced Gissele Granados, due to her being without oxygen to her brain for so long.  The cause of this condition was a combination of the bacteria in the her bloodstream that caused her to have violent seizures which at that time, they believe she most likely had injury to her brain.

Throughout these three years of Giselle battling through her condition while she was healthy and stable she was able to be the most productive toddler that anybody could see. With the help of her speech therapist and occupational therapists and physical therapist she was able to learn and break through so many obstacles that she had since she was a baby. She was able to learn how to eventually jump on her own when at the age of 1 and 1/2 to 2 years old she had a hard time walking because of her condition her left side of the body had a severe weakness in comparison to her the rest of her body. Giselle loved to meet people she loved to say hello to everybody wherever she went she was always a light she was always a smile no matter where she went. Giselle was so kind-hearted and humble so gentle that she proved at all times that she was Stronger than her condition. Just so was the type of angel that she would comfort anybody even the strangers if she felt that they were sad in any way. She would give him a smile and a pat on their back or even a hug even if it was just to say hello. Giselle was such a happy little girl she love so many Footprints in so many lives they have been affected by the situation.

The money raised through this page will help alleviate the financial burden left by Gissele's sudden passing and will provide support.
