*Please note that although my coach Jason Coosner is the one listed as the person receiving the funds because he is the one managing my attendance at Youth America Grand Prix, I am still the recipient of your generosity. Thank you so much!!*
THE GHIDOLI FAMILY:
We are a regular family filled with love, energy, routines, craziness, tensions and all the things that roll into one big typical family of 6. Ferdinando (dad), Monique (mom), Luciano (18), Matteo (17), Gisèle (14) and Gemma (11).
All 4 of our children are born and bred South Africans with a strong Italian influence growing up through their dad.
We never in our wildest dreams imagined that 3 of 4 children would have a gift for dancing.
One can only take them so far on a very stretched family budget.
We would deeply appreciate your kind consideration for our request to help us support our daughter Gisèle in the art of dance.
MEET GISÈLE ODILE GHIDOLI :
Gisèle has faced many changes and challenges in her dance
environment over the years, but in spite of this, continues to excel and work extremely hard in her chosen field.
She has a tenacious personality with a never ending desire to dance and she pushes herself unbelievably to achieve her very best.
Youth America Grand Prix, Inc. is the world's largest non-profit international student ballet competition and scholarship program, open to dance students of all nationalities, 9–19 years old.
This International ballet competition is held in 14 countries and 23 US cities. Approximately 350 dancers are invited to New York finals out of Roughly 13,000. YAGP has provided many scholarships and other opportunities to numerous dancers to support their dreams.
Gisèle has been working with so much focus and dedication to her art form, dreaming of the chance to one day dance on the international stage of the YAGP finals in New York City.
Although, we weren't able to send Gisèle to one of the regional qualifiers due to financial situation, her coach Jason Coosner helped her with sending a video audition for a chance to compete at the YAGP Finals. In January 2020, Gisèle received exciting news, letting her know that she had qualified and was invited to compete at the YAGP finals this upcoming April.
A massive achievement and opportunity of a life time. Gisèle will represent South Africa amongst other top dancers chosen from various countries around the world.
Gisèle being able to compete would mean her possibly earning a scholarship to further her dancing career and training abroad which would in turn create a platform for her to realize her passion and dream of becoming a professional ballerina.
As a South African her exposure to the international platform is limited and for her to be presented with such an opportunity is one that we want to try our very best in approaching all avenues to make this happen.
With this being said, any amount will truly be a huge help! Gisèle and our family are extremely grateful.
