Girls Soccer Worldwide

Hey everyone!
 
My name is Addyson Mapes and I am an incoming junior at Amador Valley High School in California. I have recently been selected to participate in an organization that I feel very passionate about called Girls Soccer Worldwide. The organization goes on an annual trip to South American Countries, Argentina and Paraguay. Our goal through each visit is to use soccer as a vehicle to build relationships in communities that will lead to pathways of equality, empowerment, and education for the girls of this generation and generations to come.
 
While in Paraguay we will immerse ourselves in the small community and their way of life. We will achieve this by walking around town, talking to locals, and visiting schools to meet children and teach them English. Most importantly we are going to organize a soccer training camp for the girls in the community who attend the local school. This is an opportunity that they don’t normally have. We are role models for these young girls, providing them with hope, confidence, and opportunity in the future.

I absolutely cannot wait for this amazing opportunity. We will be departing on November 17th and returning back to the states with many new and exciting memories on November 27th.
