Girls Rock Camp Harrisonburg

As part of my Senior Capstone Project for the Honors College, I am putting on a Girls Rock Camp in Harrisonburg, VA for young women and gender non-conforming youth ages 8-18. During this camp, girls will have the opportunity to learn the basics of a rock instrument, divide into bands, and collaborate to write an original song.
Our camp is taking place August 14-18 with a showcase on August 19th. Even if you can only give a few dollars, I really appreciate your support; we are raising a lot of money in a short period of time, and anything helps!
My focus with this camp is not only to provide a solid base of musical knowledge but to instill confidence and empower young girls from all backgrounds within the community. To find out more about the specific goals of this camp, please visit our website !!
This camp will be COMPLETELY FREE to those who sign up, and meals will be provided. Everyone who will be running the camp, teaching lessons and workshops, and guiding the bands will be VOLUNTEERS.
Because of this, I desperately need your help to provide the necessities for these girls to thrive and find their voice. Funds from this will go to providing meals for girls Monday-Friday of camp, background checks for volunteers, instrument rentals, camper t-shirts, and the cost of various other supplies required for a camp of this capacity.
If possible, I would like to give a stipend to my volunteers who will be working very hard with me to make this happen, so if you would like to help me avoid making college graduates and local community members work for free, I appreciate anything you are willing to give, and I can't thank you enough!
We are also looking for instrument donations and instruments to borrow to cut the cost of rental instruments. If members of the community are willing to lend their instruments (amps, mics, PAs, cables as well) to a camper for a week's time, please visit our website and sign up to donate or lease an instrument.
