Girls Menstruation Kit The Gambia

If you cannot afford any hygenenic aids when your monthly comes around, what do you do? Rags, Cotton wool, leaves, nothing. And if infection sets in, the end scenrio included death, here, in The Gambia.

So we got a design from daysforgirls.org (check it out!) and have been making a 100 recyclable kits a month.
Each kit contains beautiful soap, wash cloth, new panties, a how to care for your kit leaflet, 4 pads, 1 shield and a bag to put a pad in to eb washed later.
Each kit has a 3 year life time if cared for properly.

They cost just on $5 to make: We then use our Youth Worker Interns to gather a class, give full reproduction information and demonstrate the kits. you should hear the laughter when Trusella (in the pic) put the panties from the kit,on ver her trousers to demonstrate! :)

BUT wait, there's more. We also give aprsentation about Relationships, including Good touch Bad touch, sexual abuse, prostitution and the dangers of being kidnapped to eb sold into sex trafficking.
Want to help us help girls and women too, To not lose days from school?  To be safe,   To be aware,   To be loved.

We are starting Girls Pride clubs in the schools, giving out kits at $1 and giving out our safe numbers to phone.
Want to help us?
Come on $10 is nothing to us from developed countries.
In Anticipation. Thank thank you (as they say here).
Jerre Jeff
Blessings on you and your own.
