Girl In The Mirror

Girl In The Mirror is a short film being made for graduating students of a Film and Television degree at Bond University on the Gold Coast in Australia.

Synopsis
It is the fourth-running week of the play 'Medea' and lead actress, Dolly, seems to be cracking under the pressure.

She has always had a unique way of preparing for a role
but tonight she finds herself in a state of psychosis;
questioning what is real and what isn't.

Her own reflection detaches itself and becomes her
mentor as she rehearses for the performance.
Before long, the Reflection's true incentive rises to the
surface and it is clear her only goal is to wreak havoc on Dolly.

Dolly confides in stage manager, Marti, however, the
flourish of her outbursts force Marti to be wary of Dolly's mental state and the diminishing potential success of tonight's performance.

Production Details
Girl In The Mirror is currently in the preproduction stage. We will begin filming late Feburary 2018, for a completed film by April 2018. We will be entering the film into large film festivals such as Cannes Film Festival, Toronto International Film Festival, and Tribeca Film Festival. This film will be the calling card into the industry for all crew involved.

Why this film?
"I was eager to write and direct this story because of the
personal understanding I have to such topic. Striving for
artistic perfection can be a detrimental obsession and
the artist at hand can lose sight of their own values. This
story dives right into the mental state of an obsessive
artist. It is an interesting concept that I am looking
forward to interpreting with my own artistic style." - Meghann Herlihy (Writer/Director)

“At first read, I was attracted to the mystery and darkness that Girl In The Mirror entails. The deep and serious topic that is being explored is reflective of a nightmare, where the biggest demon you can face is yourself. I was enticed by the way the script discovers how overcoming and struggling to deal with issues such as obsession, insecurity and insanity is not as easy as one may think." - Jade Weller (Producer)

How will the money be spent?
All funds raised will go directly into the film. We have devised an intricate budget with the exact costs associated with the production and marketing of this film. Some costs include: actors, equipment, set construction, production design, costumes, makeup, and sound design.
