Girl Space 2.0 Exhibition

Girl Spaces exist within both abstract and defined terms. They are places in which women can gather – or maybe escape alone to – and be safe and welcome. As a woman, you may have many or maybe just one space you identify as your ‘Girl Space’. This Girl Space is one that celebrates art and it’s makers. Girl Space is an all female art collective that is inclusive and welcoming to all young female artists while showcasing the best that these artists have to offer. The artists in this exhibition would like to extend a warm welcome into their personal Girl Spaces and show you why female empowerment and inclusion is so important.

This is the mission statement for the upcoming Girl Space exhibition at The Mill. Girl Space is an Adelaide based initiative which aims to create an inclusive and supportive network for young female and female identifying artists. Girl Space provides artists with the opportunity to exhibit their work, a network full of other artists, mentorship and guidance. This is only the start of Girl Space,  I hope to be able to continue to build it and create more events and exhibtions for all the extremely talented wom*n artists of Adelaide. But to create these events takes financial support, and as a full-time student myself, I cannot raise these funds on my own. The money raised for this exhibtion would go to paying the artists to have their work framed, the hire of the gallery space, the ability to have events during the timeframe of the exhibition and to create flyers and posters for marketing. By creating a successful exhibition, Girl Space will continue to grow and provide a safe space for the female artists of Adelaide. Any donation will be hugely appreciated, and all donors will be honored on the opening and closing nights and on our social media pages.

And if you can't donate, please come along to the exhibition and see the works of:

Antonia Ditroia, Brianna Speight, Ellie Anderson, Indigo Cherry, Jess Zeng (Ban-She), Ria Roma Sharma and Sascha Tan

installed at The Mill from the 8th of September - 27th of September with a big opening night party on the 8th and many other events on during the exhibition, which can be found on our facebook @girlspaceadl
