Paintings for Water (African Giraffe)

I was in tears.

I broke down after I took my favorite picture of giraffes while on my life changing trip to Africa. This break down was caused by the realization that I wouldn't be able to print this image.

After I viewed the small, unprintable pixels of this beautiful image on my computer screen, I was crushed. People fell in love with this image, but I couldn't give it to them, because it wasn't even a large enough file to print a 4x6 of, let alone a beautiful, large wall print.
I was so caught up in the moment while standing in the midst of all the wild animals, that I forgot I had changed my camera settings. I changed them because I saw these little, precious Africans staring at my camera and smiling at me, and I let them borrow it for a little while. They quickly fell in love with this new fun toy, so I had to change the size of the pixels so that all the images they were snapping could fit on the memory card. Well, long story short... I forgot I did that... I snapped these last images of the giraffes... and it was too tiny of a file to print.

Well... my friend and amazingly talented painter, Jeff Reiter, heard my story and offered to paint this image. Even better... he wants all the funds raised from this to be donated to the African Reflections Foundation. So we are selling 100 signed, numbered prints of this painting. I am so thankful he did this for me. The painting is beautiful. He spent countless hours on this, and I can never thank him enough.

So... it all worked out. Better than I could have hoped for. What was meant to be a beautiful photograph, turned into an AMAZING painting.
