Gio (Giovanni) is a special little boy who is not only a neighbor but a terrific friend to my two daughters. This little lion has been diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer called Neuroblastoma, a disease often found in the small glands on top of the kidneys (adrenal glands). It can develop in the belly, chest, neck, pelvis, and bones. Children ages five or younger are most commonly affected. Gio, who is only four years old has his whole life ahead of him, and we want to make sure that we do whatever we can do get him the absolute best care and support possible. He is currently in a children's hospital here on Long Island and is about to undergo intensive chemotherapy.  If all goes as planned, he will be able to go home in the coming week or so but will have to travel with his parents over 70 miles round trip on a regular basis for treatment. Our goal is to assist with his medical bills, travel expenses and overall quality of life to make this amazing soul as comfortable as possible while he fights this very tough disease. We have no doubt that with everyone's help (no matter how big or small the contribution), that we can help him overcome this battle. We ask that if you cannot contribute, that you send as many positive thoughts and prayers possible for him and his loving family.
