Ginny's Surgery Fund

Donation protected
A week and a half ago my rommates and I rescued what we thought was a happy, healthy puppy named Ginny. After noticing that she seemed to be more tired than other puppies, and that she had a severe runny nose, we took her to the vet for her first check-up. At the vet, I was informed that Ginny was suffering from a grade 5 heart murmur and that a cardiologist should be seen ASAP. Yesterday, at the University of Illinois VETMED Cardiologist, Ginny was diagnosed with PDA (Patent Ductus Ateriosus),  a congential heart defect in which a large blood vessel, that was supposed to close just after birth, remained open. The failure of this blood vessel to close prevents Ginny's blood from flowing into her lungs, as it should, and would have caused her to go into heart failure and die within the next week. Because of the severity of her condition, Ginny is currently undergoing a $4,000 heart surgery today in order to  put a cap on that open blood vessel and save her life. After this surgery, Ginny will go on to live a perfectly normal, life as the active, healthy puppy she is meant to be.  This heart defect and surgery were the last thing we expected when adopting this adorable dog, so any amount of money to go toward helping pay for Ginny's surgery would be greatly appreciated!
