Ginnie's Medical Expenses

Ron and I are blessed with four wonderful children who are now almost all on their own. We are so very proud of them - all home schooled. Our oldest son is married and has blessed us with our first grandchild. Two of our daughters are out of college and are starting their lives, and our youngest is a sophomore in college. All of us are KU Jayhawk fans. We were anxiously awaiting a time in the very near future where our empty nest was filled once again with many grandbabies. But 10 weeks ago, we were presented with some overwhelming and devestating news.

Cancer.


Yes, the dreaded "C" word has hit our family ... and it has wrapped its tenacles around me, Ginny. It started in the summer when my back started to hurt, and I thought I had pulled a muscle. It helped if I walked a bit with a cane. Then the pain started getting worse and we went in for a check-up. We were dumbfounded at the news - Medistatic Carcinoid. The doctor said signet ring carcinoma - which is cancer of the stomach and it had spread to my bones and other vital organs. My treatment is Paclitaxel which I get every Friday at my chemo appointment. Unfortuantely, I also broke a bone in my leg which has set me back and has prolonged healing.

Our family is doing all that they can in the way of helping with daily chores and more and we so appreciate all the help we are receiving from them. However, the medical bills are beginning to mount and are overwhelming. My sister in law suggested a gofundme page and so she helped us create this one to reach out to others to help us in anyway they possibly can to help offset the mounting medical bills.
