Gina's GBM Journey

As some of you may know our mom, Gina Perez was diagnosed with grade 4 brain cancer which is also known as Glioblastoma Multiforme (GBM) in October of 2017. We had no signs that anything was wrong so to be told that traumatic news has been absolutely devastating. Not only were we informed that our mom had the worst grade of brain cancer, we were also told that there was nothing they could do to remove the tumor and that they could just make her comfortable with the time she has left here on Earth. As her daughters, we didn't take well to that answer so we decided that it was our duty to find someone who would try to help our mom. We found a doctor in Oklahoma City who specializes in "inoperable brain tumors" and is very successful. We have been in constant contact with him and he has agreed to take our mom as a patient and simply try.
To be honest, we have kept very quiet about everything that has been going on with our mom. Anyone who knows our mom knows how full of life she is and just seems to never stop, endless energy! This journey has been mentally, physically and emotionally draining for everyone, especially our mom! She doesn't want help (not even from us) and although she is in pain, she never wants to speak up. We have had many people reach out to offer their help and although we are grateful, in a true Gina fashion, we have turned down the offers.
We are at the point in her GBM journey where we do need help, mentally and financially. We need as many thoughts and prayers as we can get for her. Additionally, we financially need help. We have officially scheduled an awake brain surgery in OKC for our mom to (crossing all fingers and toes) have her GBM tumor completely removed. The surgery is scheduled for February 9th, 2018 in Oklahoma City. Although she has insurance, there are still many expenses that are going to occur during this exciting yet nerve wracking surgery. So, here we are extending our arms to ask you all for help. If you can't donate, please keep our mom in your thoughts and send all of your good vibes and prayers. If you can donate, anything will help!
