Gina’s New Heart

Donation protected
Hello!

I’m Ciera, the office manager at the San Antonio Priority branch. My mom has finally gone home after 51 days in the hospital due to heart failure.
Since a few days after her birthday on February 18th, she had been in and out of the hospital with heart failure issues, until March 31st where she was there to stay.
In the midst of my mom’s health problems, my dad was laid off from his job, which was fortunate only because he was able to be by my mom’s side throughout those uncertain times.
My family and I were prepared for the worst, not knowing if she would be around much longer when day after day, her blood pressure dropped dangerously into the 80s and even coding once in her sleep.
After being hooked to multiple machines to keep her heart beating, and non stop care in the ICU, the cardiologists then decided a heart transplant would be her only chance to go home.
Miraculously, a week after they decided on a heart transplant, a suitable heart became available and we were told, once the heart was approved as a match, she would be getting a new heart within a day!
A day later, my mom underwent 7 hour surgery to remove her heart and replace it with a new one.
Recovery has not been the easiest or most comfortable, but she is alive and she gets to see her two grandchildren as soon as a month!
She is physically restricted for the first 8 weeks, so my dad is still staying home with my mom to make sure she can be accommodated with her every day tasks, as well as keeping the house clean and cooking for her while she adjusts and recovers.
I am sharing this story in hopes of raising enough money to cover just a portion of her medical bills, follow up appointments and daily medications she will have to take for the rest of her life.
With my dad being laid off, we are looking to get whatever help we possibly can to make it less stressful on my family.
I appreciate the time it took to read my mom’s story & for any small donation you can afford to make.

We are so blessed my mom has a second chance at life.

Thank you all!!
