Gina Holgate's medical treatment
Donation protected
We are raising funds to help pay for medical treatment and related expenses for Gina Holgate.
In early July, Gina was admitted to the hospital in Roseburg, Oregon with symptoms of Encephalitis, or inflammation of the brain. Gina spent a week in the ICU in Roseburg before being transferred to the ICU at OHSU in Portland, Oregon.
The doctors at OHSU began treating Gina with high doses of steroids and after a week in the ICU she had improved enough to be transferred to the Neurology unit where she has been since.
Gina has been diagnosed with Anti-NMDA Receptor Encephalitis, an acute form of Encephalitis that is triggered by an auto-immune reaction. Her condition is fairly stable but her progress has been very slow. She's still mostly non-verbal and cannot respond to basic commands. Doctors are expecting that she will need to stay in the hospital for several more weeks.
Your donations will help pay for medical expenses, other costs related to her treatment, and travel expenses that are being incurred by Gina's husband, Shawn, and family.
Please pray for Gina's speedy and complete recovery and keep Gina, Shawn, and their family in your thoughts and prays.
