Gina Simpson Recovery Fund

On Friday, June 30th, Gina Simpson, age 32, suffered a severe seizure and stroke.  She was rushed to Woodwinds Hospital via ambulance and subsequently transferred to St. Joseph's where she remains sedated and on a ventilator. Gina gave birth to her little girl Zelene just three weeks prior to this tragic event and also has a 2 year old son, Cash, who has Downs Syndrome.  Gina is a very engaged mom who is constantly working to fulfill the needs of her children and her family and this is truly a devastating situation for her whole family.  At this time, Gina is sedated and it is unknown how much function she will recover, particularly on her right side.  The medical team feels that it may be six months to a year before she is able to return home.  She will likely require extended rehabilitation in an inpatient setting.  Her family will need immediate help with medical bills, as well as financial assistance for care of their young children and general living expenses.  This young family is very overwhelmed and we hope to alleviate some stress for Gina and the whole family as she begins her journey to recovery.  Please consider giving a donation.  Any amount is truly appreciated.
