Gil&Verna's Relief Fund for Puerto

Our hearts are heavy even as I write this.  Our beloved island, my husband's home, of Puerto Rico has experienced much devastation. Most of his family still live there, his father, Bernardo included.  The island of Enchantment has been hit hard by hurrican Maria.  Right now there is no electricity or water to over 3.5 million residents on the island.  They anticipate 4-6 months w/o it. Communities are ripped apart, homes devasted.  Life was challenging enough on the island, this catastrophie has made things much worse.  Stress and anxiety with regard to basic survival is troublesome. Can you help us help them?  The needs are overwhelming, but here is what we want to do.  Bring some relief to our neighborhood where many family members reside.  Purchase a Honda 2000 generator w/a, Rubbermaid Action Packer (24 gallon) to transport it, a  few compact solar chargers for cell phones, food, batteries, flashlights, rebuilding/cleaning supplies, tools, when we get there.  Gil, our father, Bernardo and myself plan to leave for the disaster area on 10/5/17 - 10/16/17.  Our father has been here with us since July and was scheduled to leave for the island on Monday 9/25/17.  We have cancelled that trip and will escort him home to face the devastation as a family, a team.  We will take as many of the supplies that we can with ushttps://funds.gofundme.com/dashboard/gilvernas-relief-fund-for-puerto/customize/description?start=1 on the flight.  We are hopeful that the airport into San Juan will open soon.  Can you help us?  Every penny raised will be used and left on the island to assist them in surviving right now.  We have no idea what we will be facing when we get there.  We have never walked, slept and lived in conditions like this.  We must be prepared for the worst and pray for the best.  Crime is at an all time high in conditions like this.  Pray for our safety & protection.  God bless the people and the island of Puerto Rico.
