Hollie Leamonts Medical Journey

Hollie is currently staying in Toronto awaiting a double lung transplant due to Cystic Fibrosis. Cystic Fibrosis is an inherited genetic conditon that there is no cure for. Her husband Steve is commuting back and forth from Windsor every weekend so he can be with her and still work to support them. That being said they are trying to mantain two residences. The family home and a place for Hollie to stay while in Toronto. There is no set time limit on how long Hollie will have to remain in Toronto. It could be anywhere from a few weeks to a few years. This is not a simple case of being the next number in line. There are many factors involved in determining the recipient of a new set of lungs. The only thing we know for sure is that after the lung transplant has taken place Hollie will have to remain in Toronto for three months. The cost of the relocating has been difficult and her mother has been traveling along with other family members to be with her while waiting for her call.
