Last week our life was turned on it's access when my mom- AKA Gigi, was diagnosed with breast cancer. She has come to a point where she is ready to share this information and accept the road ahead of her. She will have surgery soon and we will find out soon after that, the remainder of the full treatment plan.
In the interim, those closest to my mom have been asking how they can help her. Joe and I will pay everything we possibly can while she can't work and be her normal self but her medical insurance has a co-insurance factor, AND the premium just went up $300.00 per month on top of that. She will have a surgery co-pay, and the extra $300.00 per month premium hike has her extremely stressed out, at a time we want her completely focused on treatment. She would love to keep her little apartment if possible so we want to be able to float the rent for that.
We decided to put up a GoFundMe account, for these purposes to help her get through this. Any money it raises will go to Gigi to pay these unexpected expenses and take some pressure off of her right now.
My mother is one of the most selfless, giving people I know. We would like to ask for continued prayers for her recovery because that would mean more than anything. I will try to post updates here as they become available because we know, Gigi is loved by a LOT of people.
