is an interim volunteer call-based companion coordination project, which connects social work students with those in need of social interaction during the pandemic through weekly phone calls. It was designed with two main goals. The first is to address the negative effects of social isolation and loneliness exacerbated due to the pandemic. The second is to provide displaced MSW students the opportunity to complete their required field placement hours. The project has been running since March, due to the needs of the community expanded, the project is in need of funding in order to continue to provide services for another year.
