This holiday season, For the Love of Missions is offering a challenge—the challenge of giving much more than a handout.
Your gift will provide a day, week, month or year of salary earned by one of our eight artisan partners who believe and trust in God’s plan for their lives.

Our financial goal is to cover salary expenses so we can expand and hire more artisans as well as create more jobs for those living in the city dump. We take the Lord's commission to heart and will rise to the call of spreading His promise of hope and provision.
Who We Are
In January 2014, For the Love of Missions started its first business in the community surrounding the Guatemala City garbage dump. There are 8 employees in this first business creating beautiful, handcrafted jewelry. This jewelry is available at http://shop.fortheloveofmissions.org/
While the jobs are critical because they provide the opportunity for these employees to provide for their families with the work of their hands, they are merely the foundation that relationships are built on.
Through developmental relationships with the employees, our goal is balance of the 4 sided person, bringing growth spiritually, physically, emotionally and mentally. This growth over time is what will work to break the generational cycles of poverty.
With your generous support and the sales of the jewelry, For the Love of Missions hopes to expand. Possible expansions include increasing the number of employees in the jewelry business and beginning additional businesses of sewing, daycare, food store, or microfinance loans.
For the Love of Missions goes beyond Fair Trade in our focus on building relationships, providing stable jobs, and igniting hope and value. We understand and respect the principles of the World Fair Trade Organization and the Fair Trade Federation and aspire to exceed them.

For the Love of Missions is organized into an artisan co-op, which provides the opportunity to learn a craft, earn a living wage, and provide economic stability.
Fair and Consistent Pay
We seek long term relationships with our artisan partners. We are dedicated to this artisan co-op in providing design assistance and guidance, a commitment to sell product and raise support. All partners receive a consistent and regular salary, which increases as sales increase.
Growth of Artisans
We are committed to bringing stability to our partner’s lives and families. We provide the opportunity to learn social and business skills by working as a team. We encourage an understanding of sound business practices. Work Conditions Our workplace promotes the health and wellness of all partners, placing the safety and security of our partners as a highest priority.
Environmental Responsibility
We are always looking for environmentally responsible products and practices and we use sustainable practices and materials when possible.
Cultural Respect
We understand there are complex cultural differences between the United States and most of the world. We recognize these differences are full of purpose and history so we do not look to uproot cultural practices while hoping to bring economic growth and stability to a community.
