A FEW WEEKS AGO HER HEART RATE DROPPED 7 BPM....WE WANT TO SEE HER DANCING AGAIN! THANKS IN ADVANCE FOR REACHING OUT TO MY GRACEFUL DANCE PARTNER & BEST FRIEND.A twist of fate placed a teenaged ballerina in a wheelchair. "Miss Gina" as her students called her, began to work around the limitations of her injury with faith and a positive outlook. Focused on exploring new forms of creative expression which has included Voice-over Acting, wheelchair dancing, video production and volunteering with a music therapy program, Gina Marie has successfully redefined herself embracing life with joy . Now several years later she finds herself dealing with complications related to the nerve damage in her spine. It began with frequent episodes of fainting resulting over time in a gashed knee, bruised hip, dislocated shoulder or sprained neck as she fell out of her wheelchair. All this lead up to a critical health crisis with her heart rate dropping to 7 beats per minute on 4/4/13 a week later it was elevated above 170 and soon after down to 30. ln a 6 week period Gina found herself in four different hospitals and in recent weeks her days have been spent with round the clock supervision going through continued diagnostic tests and follow up appointments . Gina Marie is grateful for the medical team involved in her care and feels blessed to have been referred to some of the nation's top specialists in Dysautonomic issues. Preparing for her trip to Mayo Clinic she feels that there is hope in sight. Gina points out that "we all have challenges, some are visible others are not" .With her remaining relatives living a great distance away her path could feel lonely but Gina Marie is moved by the compassion and generosity of those who are reaching out to her during this journey to regained health. In her words "I believe more so than ever that we are all miracles in progress!"
