Gianna the Brave fighting Erythromelalgia

Gianna has recently been diagnosed with a rare disorder called Erythromelalgia. This condition is characterized by episodes of pain, redness, and swelling in various parts of her body, particularly the hands and feet. Her condition is considered rare in children. Gianna has not been able to attend school this year and is currently being homeschooled due to this painful illness. Gianna has not been able to be a typical ten year old girl who gets to have sleep overs and play with her friends. Gianna suffers daily from pain especially in her feet, which has prevented her from being able to walk.   Her parents Michele and Phil have consulted with numerous doctors and hospitals to help ease her pain. Gianna has pain all day and night and the pain is now spreading to other parts of her body.  She will be consulting with a top pain specialist in Rochester, NY in January and was accepted to the Mayo Clinic in Minnesota beginning February 2021.  They are currently administering treatment at Stony Brook Hospital, and many times treatment is not covered by insurance.
