GI Joe medical expenses

Donation protected
I hate asking for help but I think I need it this time....

GI Joe is a service dog purchased for me through VA Voc Rehab in 2009. He has helped me reduce medications from 8 when I first had him to ZERO. He helped me return to college and attended college by my side for nearly 4 years. Together, in 2012, we changed Missouri state law (SB 33) to help other service dog teams with invisible injuries such as diabetes, brain injury, PTSD and seizure disorders. GI Joe has traveled to 10 states to assist me in public speaking engagements, training and events with wounded warrior project and other unrelated conferences.

He is now semi-retired because has been doing service dog work for 8 years!  I live alone, so even though he is semi-retired, he mitigates my PTSD in my home environment by helping me exercise, get out of the house and in taking care of something other than myself. He has saved me from numerous hospital visits, inpatient stays, more meds and the hamster wheel that the VA is with more meds and treatments that never worked for me.

Any help you can give is greatly appreciated.

See pictures below of the estimate. 2 additional cysts were removed this morning and 4 additional x-rays were taken so the estimate is actually low. They found water on his knee so after the xrays come back, he may need another surgery or further orthoepedic care.

I have recieved $100 toward this amount from Amvets Riders chapter #1 and added it to the total. $2000 should cover the percentage charged by gofundme and the extra charges for the additional cyst and x-rays taken. Any additional money donated will be used for his orthopedic consult, food, treats and his ongoing medical care as he ages.

*Edit- we had to go to the emergency vet last night (6/30). We spent $279.

The total for his surgery was $1573 so far. We have 2 more follow-ups for a bandage change and stable removal.

We ordered nutritional supplements for his newly diagnosed arthritis and a knee brace for his torn CCL in his knee. That was $100.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart and from the bottom of GI Joe's paws.
