Egglescliffe Nepal Fund
Donation protected
Ghunsa, a school funded through the UK-based charity Community Action Nepal, suffered substantial damage in the 2015 earthquake which affected most of Eastern Nepal. Since then, Egglescliffe School has fostered a partnership between here and there, continuing to raise funds to support the rebuild and boost the local community. On our last visit, we provided science and IT equipment for use in the classrooms. The funds raised from this new campaign will pay for a second team to travel to Ghunsa in October 2019, strengthening the relationship between the UK and Nepal to continue supporting Ghunsa and Community Action Nepal for years to come. This time our students will be teaching English, Maths, IT and Geography as well as taking textbooks and resources for use in the classrooms. Specifically, the money from this fundraising activity will pay for our students travel in Nepal using local guides, cooks and porters providing two weeks employment for over 30 Ghunsa residents.
Our next big activity, will be to abseil from Middlesbrough's 165ft Transporter Bridge on September 23rd, 2018. Please consider sponsoring our students and parents who are completing the jump. Here's the team:
