Feeding the Front Lines

Donation protected

We're partnering with locally owned Sandy Springs restaurants to feed healthcare workers on the frontlines in ER's and ICU's at area hospitals. This accomplishes two things; We put a smile on the faces of these tireless workers while helping to keep our favorite restaurants afloat during this challenging time.

As of 4/9, we've been successful in raising over $10,000 and have fed approximately 500 healthcare workers food from Breadwinner Cafe thus far with plans to feed another 500 over the next week or two.

The next $5,000 we raise, will go towards providing food to healthcare workers from Frutta Bowls in the Fountain Oaks shopping center. $10 will buy a nutrient dense and delicious meal including a large acai bowl or smoothie, protein bites and an immunity shot. All items will be individually packed and delivered by Frutta Bowls, following each hospitals' packaging and delivery protocol to ensure a safe delivery for all.

We've found that most restaurants surrounding the hospitals are closed or have a limited offering, the cafeterias are down to limited service, these workers don't have 30 minutes to take a lunch break with the influx of new patients and most of them are sick of pizza and chicken fingers. We've been focused on providing nutritional food with the goal of putting smiles on their faces and making their days a bit better.

Thank you to all who have helped out thus far and please check back for updates!

(Original post 3/27)

We're partnering with the good folks at Breadwinner Cafe to help feed the hospital workers on the front line during this this tough time. We're starting with the emergency room at Emory Hospital where we're in touch with Kevin May, the Director of Ops for their ER. They have approximately 100 employees per shift (two shifts daily) that are playing a role in assisting those in the ER. The cafeteria is down to limited service, many of the restaurants in the area are closed for now and most importantly, with the significant amount of new patients coming in - the nurses and staff don't have time to take a 30 minute lunch.

$10 will buy a boxed lunch (sandwich, side salad, bag of chips and a cookie) and Breadwinner will be making these deliveries. They will be individually packaged and brought in through a service entrance to avoid any sort of contamination.

Please help Breadwinner and those at Emory - we suggest a donation of $25 but any amount would go a long way. The goal is to raise $1,000 to provide enough food for one shift without leaving anyone out. If we have success and raise more than the goal, we will feed additional shifts and reach out to other hospitals and use those funds elsewhere.

Please spread the word and thanks everyone for your help!
