Miracle Mason's NICU Stay

The Suarez family, Alison and Isven with their two children Maya (15) and Max (10), welcomed the newest addition to their family, Mason Asher Suarez, on July 7th, 2018  weighing 4 lbs 4oz. 

Mason was born eight weeks early and his first two months have been marked with serious complications and hard struggles.  Little Mason was born with Respiratory Distress Syndrome which has now turned into Chronic Lung Disease which has made it impossible for him to come home right now.  While on a ventilator for the first 24 days, he battled, and overcame,  Patent Ductus Arteriosus, Pulmonary Hypertension,  a collapsed lung, and a serious lung infection; there is little doubt he is one tough little guy.

Mason has been in St. Agnus Hospital in Baltimore since he was born and has not been able to leave their Level 3 NICU due to his lung complications. Despite amazing work by the St. Agnus care team, Mason has not been able to make the progress they have hoped for.  Because of this, Mason is now being transferred to the Level 5 NICU at John Hopkins Hospital.   We are hopeful the team at John Hopkins will be able to help heal little Mason so that he can come home to his family after such a hard starting journey.

Any support you provide will help Alison take off of work so she can spend time with Mason as he seems to do better when his mommy is with him.  She has currently exhausted all her vacation time and the family savings to do so up until now. Your support will also help offset the high medical bills they are incurring from little Mason's long battle in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and the long fight still ahead for him.
