Ghar Ghar Navratri 2021

Tax deductible
The festival of Navratri, translates to mean 'nine nights', and refers to the nine day celebrations that take place to honour and worship female divinity and power known as Shakti.

The festival holds great importance to Hindus across the globe who will gather within community groups and religious congregations at venues, community halls and temples every evening to partake in worship ceremonies, to offer their prayers, seek blessings and also to celebrate the auspiciousness of these nine night.

Last year, Navratri celebrations across the country were severely restricted due to the Covid-19 pandemic. This was also the case for all major Hindu festivals, meaning that all celebrations had to evolve for the digital age and change from the traditional means of celebration.

The team at Bolton Hindu Forum and BHF Radio took the initiative to launch one of the largest online celebrations of Navratri in Europe.
This drew in the largest number of people that tuned in to watch and participate daily via Youtube, Zoom and Facebook live streams.

As a result, devotees were still able to honour, observe and celebrate Navratri in the comfort and safety of their homes, whilst also providing an opportunity for people to get together virtually using our Zoom platform; having the opportunity to wear traditional Indian attire really brought the festival to life!

The celebration went viral on social media through the branding of Bolton Hindu Forum’s *“Ghar Ghar Navratri”* celebration, with thousands of viewers tuning from around the world over the nine nights of festivities.

Following on from this tremendous success, we are pleased to announce that we will once again be taking the celebration virtual this year, thereby allowing you to dress up in sarees, chaniya cholis, kurtas and kediyas, to play garba and dandiya from the comfort of your own home.

*What can you look forward to this year?*
